In refreshing news this morning, the United State of America has lifted the visa restrictions it placed on Ghana limiting the visa validity of a section of Ghanaian travelers to the States. Under the visa restriction, applications for visa categories B1, B2 and B1/B2 for all Ghana executive, legislature branch employees, their spouses and children under 21 were limited to only one-month validity as against the 5 years usually granted.

The effect of the restriction was much felt by a large section of Ghanaian applicants who would have originally been granted a 5 years visa but were granted just one month. The extreme case of the restriction was how all public and civil servants were bundled together in the restriction including even teachers. Their spouses and children were also granted limited visas as a result of the ban.

With the ban having been lifted, no doubt now is the time to travel to the USA, if you have plans of doing so for, in the world of diplomacy, you never know what is going to hit you.
